Goalstie — Account and Data Deletion

At Goalstie, you're always in control of your account. You can delete your Goalstie account and its associated personal data from inside the app, or ask us for help by email. This page needs no account and works on any browser, whether or not you have the app installed.

How to Delete Your Account

  1. 1Open Goalstie and sign in to your account.
  2. 2Open the Profile tab, then choose Account Settings.
  3. 3Scroll to the Danger Zone section at the bottom.
  4. 4Select "Delete my account".
  5. 5Type DELETE to confirm, then confirm the warning.

Deletion is permanent. Once confirmed, your account cannot be restored.

Can't Access Your Account?

If you cannot sign in or access the app, email us at support@goalstie.com with the subject "Account Deletion Request."

Our support team will help verify account ownership and process your request.

What Is Deleted

When your Goalstie account is permanently deleted, the deletion process removes your account and associated personal information, including:

  • Your Goalstie account itself, including the email address on it - which is then free to sign up again
  • Your profile information
  • Your match requests, and any conversation with no other member left in it
  • The messages you sent, in every conversation
  • Your community posts, replies, likes, and wave greetings
  • Your first impressions and goal invitations
  • Your verification selfie record and verification counters
  • Your reports, blocks, and feedback

Your database records are deleted when you confirm. This happens in steps rather than as a single atomic operation: your account is removed first, then your records are cleared, and the cleanup keeps an internal recovery record of anything it could not finish so our team can complete it and verify the result.

Conversations with other members: the messages you sent are deleted in every conversation. A conversation you had with another member is closed, and that member's own messages stay in their own conversation with you - we do not delete another member's history. Your profile is no longer visible to them.

Your account and these records are removed during the deletion itself, and then checked: the app counts what is left and only reports the deletion as complete when nothing remains. If a step cannot finish, an internal recovery record keeps the exact scope so our team can complete and re-verify it, and anything outstanding is reviewed at least weekly.

Your Photos and Files

Deleting your account removes the record and links to your photos, but the stored image files themselves - your profile photos, your gallery photos, your verification selfie, and images you attached to community posts - are held in our storage provider. Our app cannot delete a stored file directly, so each one is placed on an internal removal list at the moment your account is deleted.

We submit that list to the storage provider and track every file until the provider confirms it is gone. Files remain on that list, and remain recorded as outstanding, until that confirmation is received.

We do not publish a fixed completion date for file removal until the storage provider's own processing time has been confirmed in practice.

What May Be Kept, and For How Long

Everything else is deleted. These are the only things that can survive a deletion, each restricted to the purpose below:

  • Reports another member filed about you

Why: Safety and moderation, so abuse claims can still be reviewed.

How long: Kept while the safety record is needed. The posts, messages, and profile the report referred to are deleted with your account, so the report no longer leads to you.

  • A conversation you had with a member who is still active

Why: That member keeps their own message history - we do not delete another member’s messages.

How long: It stays with their account for as long as they keep it. Every message you sent is removed, and your name and profile are no longer shown to them.

  • A removal-list entry for each file you uploaded

Why: It records that a removal request was sent and when it is confirmed, so a file cannot be quietly forgotten.

How long: Kept until our storage provider confirms the file is gone, then kept as the removal record. It holds the file link only - no profile or account is attached to it.

  • The image files themselves in our storage provider

Why: Goalstie cannot delete a stored file directly; each removal is requested from the provider.

How long: Held in storage until the provider confirms removal. We do not publish a fixed date, because the provider’s processing time has not been measured - support@goalstie.com can tell you the status of a specific request.

  • Information needed for legal, fraud-prevention, or security purposes

Why: To comply with legal obligations, prevent fraud and abuse, and resolve disputes.

How long: Only for as long as that purpose or the law requires, then deleted.
